I went with the A7s for fronts to pair up with the A6 center. I do listen to a bit of music but don't regret having the extra from the low-mid level bass drivers in the A7. It allows me to isolate more of the low end bass to the sub with a lower crossover setting.
And I went with the A3s as surrounds with the thought that if I ever wanted to move them out to wides I'd keep the same diameter to help maintain the soundstage. A move I somewhat regret because the A3s are a bit overkill for surrounds IMHO and are more difficult to place due to the size difference.
Either way, A5s or A7s you are going to be a happy camper.
Just checked amazon and there selling the A7's in the cherry for the exact same price as the cherry A5's. Color does not matter really so still might pick up the black A5's since there just a little cheaper.
As for the sub choice I might need to start a new thread In the sub forums tomorrow about that after I talk to the wife. I will be sure to show her all the great bass movies for kids.

These are the RTi series not the RTi A series. However, they have the EXACT same sound as the A series. The only difference is cosmetics. Polk admits this in the description.
So, for $399.00 you could get a pair for the EXACT same sound. Just a thought
Here is another option to think about. These are direct from polk and warranty applies.

Will have to look into this a little more. If it is just cosmetic and the warranty is still the same this might be the way to go.
I'm using the extra money and upgrading to the HSU VTF-3 MK4. btw HSU gives a military discount incase you didn't know. It's only 5 percent but it's better than nothing.
Thanks again guys for all your help
Hey, I have the A5's... remember, Newegg usually has sales on the weekend. I picked up my pair for $550.00 shipped! Also, the A5 has TWO mid-range drivers. The Awesome Sub you pick up will be 100000 times better the the two woofers on the A7
I hear about this a lot on Newegg having outstanding specials for the A5 and other RtiA series. I get email every day from Newegg and shop there a lot for computer parts and have never once seen deals on Polk for any other series than the Monitors. they are always on sale but never can i find the RtiA series at substantial discounts. I've actually been contemplating and searching for a set of RtiA's for four months now after missing the Friends and Family sale. Burns me up I missed that outstanding sale and have not seen anything close to that on Newegg. Kills me that over the holiday, Thanksgiving included I've seen nothing. Would love to hear from you guys if something pops up in the near future. Thanks in advance for your time!

I needed a pair of A5s in cherry to complete my 7.1 system, so was waiting for a sale on Newegg or open box & early Dec OneCall had an open box for $329 so I grabbed it & a week later they went on sale on Amazon same price. Due to some shipping errors & gaffs from Amazon, they gave me an $80 credit, so last speaker was $249! Love these speakers!!

The best deal and place I may just order from today is Sound Distributors. They always have a coupon code 'tv15' that saves you 15% and plus will beat any price. I'm sure many of you knew of this but wanted to put it out there. If it comes down to a hundred or two no way I'd buy used or open box. I'll pay for the piece of mind.
Did you order them yet?

I did order them last night. Ended up ordering from Onecall.com as they had the RtiA5 in cherry for $329 new. I got a pair, the CsiA6 and a pair of RtiA3 for surrounds a bit cheaper than Sound Distributors. I also ordered another amp for the center, an Emotiva XPA-100. The XPA-100 will power the CsiA6 and my LPA-1 will power the rest. Contemplating ordering 2 more XPA-100 for the fronts but trying to decide on a good sub. My thoughts are to go with 2 SVS PB-1000, 1 PB-12NSD or possibly all out and order a PB-12 Plus or Rhythmik. Of course, going all the way sounds fun but is it necessary for the condo I'll be listening in. I just want the best sound and tightest bass possible at low to moderate levels. Couple decent speaker stands for the RtiA3 pair and I should be through with my spending spree. Any advice on the above is welcome and I've got a budget of about 1200-1300 dollars left for this project. Whether for more power or more sub is the question. I have no experience with subs other than my klipsch Synergy Sub 12 so I'd imagine it will not take much to beat.
Last thing and for my own security is that I hope these Polk RtiA's are an improvement overall from my Klipsch Icon wood speakers. They are very nice and sound amazing, just looking for a different sound and matching set for the new pad. Thanks in advance for your time and supporrt on this.

Congrats on the new speakers. Come on over to the Polk thread and shoot the breeze with us. Lot's of good guys over there, and sometimes we even talk about audio LOL.
Seriously, for me personally, I would hold off on the extra XPA's for now. I think you'll find the 5's will sound amazing with what you have, and you can always upgrade later...more important now to get the better sub. For me, and I'm not a basshead by any means, I'm thinking about going with the PB-NSD with maybe a second one down the line if I think it's needed.
As for if the RTIA's are better than the Klipsch's, well, only you can say since it's all in what you may personally like, but for me the Polks blow them away.

Thanks! Just got home from work and plan on trying to get the rest of my orders in line to complete the system. I have been bumping around over at the Polk forum but I get a lot of confusion when I hang at specific Brand threads. For instance, Emotiva amps are right inline with my budget and I already have the LPA-1 and UMC-200 and now just ordered the XPA-100. Folks over there tend to feel the Emotiva amps are a bad match for the RtiA series and cause them to be extremely bright. That gets in my head and has me worried that my amps are bad and I need to sell them. I'm sure you understand how it is when you get something in your head and it doesn't fit. Now I feel I have to avoid that forum until I've heard my speakers and have my own experience. I've never even heard Polk speakers so I'm going into this blind and on feedback of them. Horrible thing about all this is that if I end up not liking or am dissatisfied it will cost a but load to replace my decisions. Really trying to avoid making mistakes along the way...

Definitely wait and hear them first. You can only use other people's opinions as your guide, but when push comes to shove you have to please yourself. I've read several people on the Polk side say that the RTI/RTIA line is great for HT but not for music, yet I think they are fantastic for music...and I'm VERY sensitive to speakers that are too bright, so who do you believe? It's all in the individual and their likes and dislikes. No matter what, don't be afraid to play around with speaker placement and even backing off the treble if necessary...whatever it takes to get the sound you're looking for.

Thanks man, that's what I wanted to hear. LOL... Are you going to be around for a bit? I'm battling hard on trying to decide what sub to get. Of course I want to go all out and grab the PB12- Plus but I feel it is going to be overkill and take up too much space. On the other hand, I do not want to get a sub that is under-powered and be let down. I have no idea at all how powerful the SVS subs my only experience is with my Sub 12 which has always been boomy sounding. Whether or not the room causes the boominess I do not know as I've always been limited as far as placement. I won't really be able to tell when I get the new sub because it basically has to go right where the Sub 12 is now. I'm hunting for a condo now and have no idea what the room will be like that all this will end up in. What I do know is it will be an open layout and most likely not exceed 12'x15' in my living room area. My main goal is not so much rattle the room bass but more detailed mid-bass. For example, when you watch an action movie such as shooter and they show Mark Wahlberg aiming his rifle, I want to feel the gun being cocked back. That's what I'm looking for in my system much more than the type of bass in the beginning of War of The Worlds. I find all that chaotic bass from that movie and movies such as Saving Private Ryan to be annoying. I usually turn it way down at those points that people usually rave about. Now of course this is my experience with a cheaper sub and very limited speaker placement. Hence the reasoning and logic behind my new found spending spree, lol.

It sounds like we both like our bass about the same way. I haven't heard a lot of subs, so I'm kinda stuck on going with reviews/recommendations myself. One thing I'm looking for is one that has good tight bass and is excellent for music. I figure if it's good for music, it will be just fine for how I like it for movies (I'm also not one to need the walls to rattle, but want to hear some bass detail for certain scenes).
It's my understanding that SVS gives you a 45 day trial with a no questions asked return policy if you get one and don't like it or feel like you want the next model up, so it's kind of a win win.
I'm gonna hit the hay here pretty soon but I'm interested to find out what you end up with. I'll keep checking in.
